Note from the Event

It gives us great pleasure to invite you to become involved in an It’s a Blokes Lunch – Supporting Men’s Health event. In 2018, we will be hosting a fantastic event that continues the conversation about Men’s Health, raising awareness and vital funds towards health education, programs, and services for men within the community.

It’s a Blokes Lunch has grown since it’s inception last year when we raised significant funds for charitable organisations Prostate Cancer Foundation Australia, Top Blokes Foundation, Black Dog Institute for health services, programs, research, and the development of a men’s health initiative for the local community.

Our committee’s objective is to continue the conversation about men’s health issues in particular mental health, cancer, and preventative health, and raise much needed funds for health education, programs, support services, and research.  We aim to educate and encourage men to talk more about their health, have regular health checks to assist in early detection of various diseases, and seek necessary treatment to maintain good health.

When I lost a mate from a sudden heart attack a few years ago on the football field, having experienced and helped mates who were suffering in silence from a mental health condition, and having helped mates, family members, and clients fight their battles through cancer. A discussion over a lunch with a few mates and local business owners turned into a commitment to do something about Men’s Health and ‘It’s a Blokes Lunch’ was brought to life.

Let’s hope by participating in this event, we can break the stigma associated with men talking about their health and seeking help, so we can save the lives of men in Australia

Thanks for your support

Congratulations on an awesome day! It’s great to see an event like this one put men’s health back on the agenda. Having battled cancer it was great to be apart of an event encourages men to speak about their health and talk to a mate. Looking forward to the next It’s a Blokes Lunch event.

A fantastic event! It was really great to be apart of such a very special afternoon with the focus on men’s health, can’t wait for next year.

What a great event, looking forward to continuing to support this very special initiative.

Congratulations on the It’s a Blokes Lunch event, it was a great arvo out with great messages throughout. Having dealt with mental health in my past it was great to see it discussed so openly in a room full of men.
