It’s a Blokes Lunch is a group of local businessmen who have come together with the aim to provide awareness Men’s health issues and funding support for allied health services for men in need within Illawarra. It is our goal that these men through our support will be empowered to participate in and transform their future through prevention, early intervention and direct action programs.

With sponsorship and support, the inaugural “It’s a blokes lunch” will grow to provide ongoing support and develop into a charity that provides services to men in need within the Illawarra region.

This inaugural “It’s a Blokes Lunch”, will be an opportunity to enjoy:

  • Fantastic 2-course lunch and after function drinks at Pepe’s.
  • Great entertainment with a celebrity blokes panel including (Timmy Robards and Scott Evennett) and keynote speaker Dr Simon Rosenbaum
  • Exciting live auctions and business card draws
  • Q&A forum with high profile males from the business, media, sports, health and entertainment world.
  • A fantastic opportunity to network with 400 other men while assisting men within the Illawarra received education, awareness and rehabilitation services for physical (prostate and testicular cancer), mental health conditions and preventative health.

  • Coronary Heart Disease is the No.1 cause of death in Australian men

  • 1 in 2 Australian men had a mental health problem at some point in their life.

  • 6 men each day take their life through suicide in Australia

  • 1 in 8 men will experience depression in their lifetime.

  • 2 in 5 Australian men get enough exercise.

  • If detected early 98% chance of survival beyond 5 years.

  • If detected late, survival rates drop below 26%.

  • Testicular cancer is the 2nd most common cancer affecting men aged 18 to 39, 1 in 20 won’t make it.

  • 70.8% of Australian men are overweight or obese, compared with 56.3% of women.

  • 4 in 5 Australian men aged 45 years and over are overweight or obese
